Workshops
How Computers Work
This workshop is for people who are nervous about computers or are just interested in learning more about them.
We look at the various parts that make up a computer, Discuss disk storage and memory which often confuses people and Talk about bits, bytes, megabytes, etc.
Then we will look at Operating Systems and what the do along with how to check which version you have.
The internet
This workshop explores the Internet and how it works. We look at a short history of the Internet.
We look at Domain Names and Web Browsers and how a browser finds a website and discuss the Cloud and searching with Google.
This workshop is for people who want to know more about email and how it works, and why it sometimes doesn't!
We follow an email from the UK to Adelaide and then look at email clients versus webmail. We will discuss email rules and etiquette, look at attachments and bounce back messages.
Computer security
This workshop looks at online security and how to stay safe whilst online.
We will look at scams and phishing emails as well as mobile scams.
We will look at two step authentication and how to create strong passwords.
